Laws of Seussville
|
Government Seussville has a variation of a democracy. A democracy is basically a government by the people. All of the laws, regulations, and representatives are voted by the people. When our Law Council proposes a new idea for a potential law, it is sent to congress, and then sent to the president. Once the law has been approved by the government, it is sent down to the people to be voted on. In order for a law to pass, at least two-thirds of the total population needs to go towards one side. When voting for officials, a similar process is used. Voters must be a citizen for a year and be above the age of 18. The president and the congress have the final say in all of the decisions made. Information must go to each of the parts in the government before reaching the people. President serves for four years and can only be reelected one time. Each other member of the government serves two years and can be reelected how ever many times the people may choose. The laws enforced in Seussville are very strict. Even though we want a happy society, rules must be placed in order to keep peace and well-being for all. Depending on the law that someone breaks, consequences will always follow. Not a single person is above any of the laws (including the officials). These regulations are all made to ensure equality of the people. A democracy allows people to choose the kind of government that they want to see. When people get to pick what kind of place they live in, it makes them happier more likely to follow the rules they choose.
